Product Designer, Artist, Fountain Pen Nut!
Before I discovered UX design, I was a literature student and instructional designer. I have also been enchanted with fountain pens for years and love sketching with them. Amongst fellow fountain pen enthusiasts, I am known for always nailing down "guess that ink" challenges, down to the exact brand and shade. With the number of inks on the market, this is a definite point of pride!
Facilitating Engaging Elections
The pandemic-ridden fictional planet Naru was conducting elections, but the barrier to entry into political discussions was prohibitive.
In this solo project, I created an app where citizens could find vital election information. They could also discover and engage with news and opinions on their own terms. A bookmark function allows users to gather content that they wish to revisit. A fact-checking system informs users of the credibility of their sources, a crucial factor for election news.
A Digital Museum Companion
Our goal was to create a digital story for users to follow as they navigated through the Royal Ontario Museum. The ROM-mate acts as the user’s personal tour guide during their visit.
In our team, I was the designer & facilitator.
During our final project, I was responsible for building the high-fidelity prototype and adding in all the micro-interactions and animations. I loved the process of animating the component sets, and it was deeply satisfying to see the polished prototype!
